TREMENDOUS SUPPRESSION, MINIMAL WEIGHT
The Hyperion QD 762 from CGS is a precision rifle silencer. Handling up to 300 RUM, the Hyperion is designed for peak decibel reduction, flash suppression, and minimal POI shift. Previously, most precision rifle silencers focused on maintaining or enhancing accuracy. The Hyperion 762 does this and more. It’s built from 3D-printed titanium, allowing for baffle efficiency that is not possible with more traditional forms of construction. While the Hyperion is threaded for 5/8×24 barrels, it can also be adapted to fit on 1/2×28 barrels.
DLC (Diamond-like carbon coating) provides heat and abrasion resistance. Compared to cerakote, the Hyperion’s DLC coating will give a much longer finish in adverse conditions. The internals are coated with S-Line, allowing for reduced carbon fouling and longer baffle preservation.
The Hyperion QD 762 is available in 5/8×24.
CAPITOL ARMORY’S OPINION
CGS has been bringing innovations to the table, and all of them are interesting. From the carbon fiber Siren to the exceptionally quiet Mod 9 FS, their cans do not disappoint. The Hyperion is no different. While it’s a large suppressor, it backs up that size with phenomenal decibel reduction and an intelligent mounting system. Even though it’s a larger can, it doesn’t feel like it. The weight is on par with some suppressors half its size. The Hyperion is an ideal can for long-range precision shooting and is right at home on bolt guns. Because it’s such a quiet suppressor at the muzzle, utilizing a bolt gun makes it shine. For anyone looking for a lightweight suppressor that sounds amazing, the CGS Hyperion is worth keeping in mind.
