This Chester County Armory listing is for a gorgeous condition FN FNC Paratrooper 16″ carbine .223rem/5.56mm NATO fully transferable four position select-fire machine gun.
This collector grade condition machine gun was originally built by S&H Arms in Owasso, OK utilizing an original S&H Manufacturing NFA registered transferable FNC machine gun sear. This sear was installed by S&H Arms into 1 of only 1000 imported 16″ true Paratrooper Carbine models of an FN FNC semi-automatic rifle functioning as the host gun. This model not only features the shorter 16″ barrel, but also its original side folding metal stock. This particular FNC host rifle was built by Fabrique Nationale Herstal in their Belgium factory, and then imported into the US by the Gun South/Howco Distributors partnership. Only 1,000 of these models with the shorter 16″ carbine barrel length were imported into the US, making this shorter overall version considerably more rare than the other 6,000 FNC models that were imported with the full 17.7″ rifle barrel length. This host rifle also has no “Sporter” markings on the left side of the receiver, as the later import rifle sized models do. All NFA conversion work on this weapon was performed by S&H Arms. The lower on this weapon is a four position model with an original FN three round burst kit installed. Fire control operation positions on this model are safe, semi-auto, three round burst, and full-auto. This model also features the upgraded FN SAW style pistol grip for the FNC and includes a removable FN Picatinny sight rail.
Overall, this weapon is in excellent condition! This model has been thoroughly inspected, test-fired, and it runs flawlessly. Mechanically, the internals and fire controls show only very minor physical wear. The sear is in outstanding condition, with no noted wear concerns. The bore and chamber are bright and shiny with crisp, clean rifling. The exterior metalwork of the host rifle is superb, with no dents, cracks, malformations, etc. noted.
Cosmetically, this weapon is in outstanding condition, as well. The FN original finish on this model notes only very minor handling marks on the exterior original finish. FNC’s were notorious for showing marks and scratches in the exterior finish as part of the manufacturing and shipping processes from FN, but this model is in overall better physical condition than the majority of host rifle models typically seen. The original polymer furniture is excellent with virtually no markings. The stock butt plate notes some minor handling marks and some small handling marks are noted on the front sight protection leaves and a small mark on the barrell at the grenade launcher ring, but overall, this is weapon is in excellent cosmetic condition when compared to most other FNC NFA examples that still maintain their original factory finish.
The current NFA paperwork indicates the manufacturer of this transferable registered sear as “Seslar, Thomas DBA S&H Manufacturing” and the model as “FNC”. This model is currently on a Form 3 for fast and easy transfer via eForms. The host rifle will transfer as a standard Title One rifle.
